chartgizmo.com #12

Image
This blog entry is about a tool of my own interest from the list of Learning- Information Processing Technologies provided by Dr. Wang. I chose the website chartgizmo.com . In class we discussed the L of TLC which is Learning. We also talked about PICRAT and I believe this website would be considered Replaces and Passive. I think this because it is simply creating charts online rather than on paper.  Chartgizmo.com is a website that allows students or teachers to create customized and interactive charts and graphs for data. It includes scatterplots, bar graphs, pie charts, line charts and more. This website was very easy to use. You simply choose the type of chart you want to create, add your data and create the chart. It will be very simple for students to learn. I don't believe this website is very versatile because all it really does is create graphs. It is great resource for that specifically, but if you are looking for a website with more to it you may want to look for a diffe

This blog entry is about a tool of my own interest from the list of Learning- Information Processing Technologies provided by Dr. Wang. I chose the website emaze.com . In class we discussed the L of TLC which is Learning. We also talked about PICRAT, and I believe this website would be considered Amplifies and Creative. I think this because it is allowing students to be creative when making their presentations. I think it amplifies because it is improving their information processing. This website is a presentation builder similar to google slides but offers different templates and additives. It includes a variety of templates, 3-D effects, video backgrounds, audio and interactive elements. It is a free website and similarly to google slides multiple people can be working on a presentation at once.  I believe this website is very easy to use once you get your account set up. For some reason when I was making my account the email code, they are supposed to send to confirm my email would

This blog entry is about a tool of my own interest from the list of Learning- Creative Technologies provided by Dr. Wang. I chose the website Pixton.com . In class we discussed the C of TLC which is Creative. We also talked about PICRAT and I believe this website would be considered Amplifies and Creative. I think this because it allows students to be creative with their Avatars while advancing their learning because they are more engaged and interested.  Pixton is a website that allows students to create their own avatars and use them to complete assignments. There are options to create comics and a class photo with everyone’s avatar. I believe this would be a fun activity to do at the beginning of the year. It also has a spot where you can look at different lesson plans and assessments that include the avatars. This is an example of the avatar I created for myself. When I created my account, I signed up as a teacher. The website has many options for diversity as well. It has a large

Block Poster #9

This blog entry is about a tool of my own interest from the list of Learning- Information Processing Technologies provided by Dr. Wang. I chose the website blockposters.com . In class we discussed the L of TLC which is Learning. We also talked about PICRAT and I believe this website would be considered Replaces and Passive. I think this because it is simply creating a poster than a teacher can print of to display.  This website gives the ability to create large posters that you can print from home for free.  There are 3 simple steps to create a poster.  This is an example of a poster I created of Abraham Lincoln. In this example the image is going to be printed on 9 different pieces of paper that can be put together to create the large poster. This website is the simplest website to use that I have looked into so far. It only has the three steps that the website takes you through.  I believe this website is not versatile at all. It has one objective and that is all it does. It doesn

This blog entry is about a tool of my own interest from the list of Learning- Creativity Technologies provided by Dr. Wang. I chose the website befunky.com . In class we discussed the C of TLC which is Creativity. We also talked about PICRAT and I believe this website would be considered Replaces and Creative. I think this because it is simply creating a collage online rather than on paper and it lets the students be creative with a topic.  This website is a online collage maker. It allows many different images and can have customized text as well as many other customizations.  This is an example of a collage I made about space.  This website was extremely easy to use. It doesn't have a lot of components to it so there is no confusion that I could find. I don't think this website it super versatile. I think it is a good tool for students to create a visual on a topic but doesn't teach a whole lot in my opinion. Teachers could use this tool to create images to excite student

Whiteboard.fi #7

Image
This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically Whiteboard.fi in the RQ2 technologies list. We have been talking about the PICRAT model in class. I believe that Whitboard.fi amplifies and is interactive because it gives the teacher the ability to graph and use other tools that would be more time consuming and difficult to use on a real whiteboard. It is interactive because students can interact with each other with their whiteboards.  Whiteboard.fi is an online tool that allows teachers to create a virtual classroom where they can share a digital whiteboard with their students. Teachers can create lessons so that students can collaborate in real-time in the classroom or from home. This is an example of some of the things you can do on Whiteboard.fi. On the left you can see the teacher whiteboard and on the right there are student whiteboards. The ease of use for this website is great! It was very easy to create a whiteboard class on the t

Nearpod #6

Image
This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically Nearpod in the software mentioned by Secondary School teachers list. We have been talking about the SAMR model in class. I believe that Nearpod is an Redefinition because the teacher can use the website for so many things to do with curriculum and it also gives students the ability to work at their own pace.  Nearpod is a online learning platform that allows teachers to create engaging lessons and deliver them to students in real-time or online. Teachers have the ability to upload a variety of resources, including videos, images, and interactive quizzes, and use them to create dynamic and interactive lessons that keep students engaged and motivated. Students can participate in Nearpod lessons using a variety of devices and can provide instant feedback to the teacher through interactive features like polls and open-ended questions. Nearpod also allows teachers to track the progress of the s

Kahoot #5

Image
This blog entry is about a tool in Dr. Wang's PPT about previous T3PP results. Specifically  Kahoot in the software mentioned by Elementary School teachers list. We have been talking about the SAMR model in class. I believe that Kahoot is an augmentation because the teacher is using it to replace quizzes but has the ability to use images, videos, and adds competition to keep the students engaged.  Start by creating a Kahoot account. It will ask if you are a teacher or a student (select teacher) and then ask if you want to pay to upgrade. I personally think the website works perfectly fine with the free version. Next, you can create a kahoot or search through previously created kahoots.  There are many different types of quizzes to choose from! This is what it should look like when you are creating a kahoot. Lastly, this is what the students will see. They don't have to create an account they just need some sort of device and then type in the code that relates to the Kahoot quiz
